Discover Uganda’s natural beauty, rich culture, and unforgettable adventures in this immersive 7-day journey across Kampala, Jinja, Kabale, and Lake Mburo
Arrival in Uganda – Kampala’s Flavors and Warm Welcome
Landing at Entebbe International Airport, we were greeted by our friendly guide from Summer Tours and Travel. Climbing into our safari vehicle, the adventure began immediately.
Our first stop: Kampala, where we indulged in a lavish local buffet. From matooke, succulent grilled meats, fresh fish, rich stews, to vibrant salads and tropical fruits, every dish introduced us to the flavours and diversity of Uganda’s cuisine. It was the perfect welcome to energize us for the journey ahead.
With appetites satisfied, we headed to Jinja, eager for adventure.
Jinja – Source of the Nile: The Heart of Adventure
Jinja immediately captivated us with its vibrant energy. We started the day exploring The Men’s Museum, a fascinating space showcasing Uganda’s history, culture, and traditional artifacts—a perfect introduction to the region’s rich heritage.
The true highlight, however, was the Source of the Nile. Cruising along the legendary river, sunlight dancing on the water, we felt the power and serenity of this historic landmark. The experience was magical: the glistening waters, gentle breeze, and endless horizon made it a once-in-a-lifetime adventure.
Adding to the cultural immersion, we danced with local communities, joined in their music, and shared laughter, creating memories that felt both joyful and authentic.

Mbarara – Cultural Pause at Igongo
On our journey to Kabale, we stopped at Igongo Cultural Centre in Mbarara. Lunch here was more than just a meal—it was an immersion in local culture. We explored traditional Ankole crafts, vibrant garments, and storytelling sessions that revealed the history and heritage of the region.
Kabale – Serenity at Lake Bunyonyi
Arriving at Eco Paradise, our island lodge on Lake Bunyonyi, felt like stepping into a postcard. Misty hills, calm waters, and 29 scenic islands surrounded us.
Over two days, we explored the lake by canoe, hiked hills for breathtaking panoramic views, and visited local communities. Sunsets over Lake Bunyonyi were simply magical, painting the sky with pinks, purples, and golds reflected on tranquil waters.
Lake Mburo National Park – Safari Adventure
On the return journey, we visited Lake Mburo National Park. The savannah stretched endlessly, dotted with wildlife—zebras, impalas, buffaloes, and elands. The thrill of spotting these majestic animals in their natural habitat was an unforgettable safari experience.
Kampala – Culture, Shopping, and Farewell
Back in Kampala, we enjoyed a night of rest before heading out the next morning.
- Boda boda rides gave us an exciting perspective of city life.
- At Ndere Cultural Center, traditional dance and music brought Uganda’s vibrant heritage to life.
- Downtown shopping allowed us to pick up unique handicrafts and savor the city’s famous rolex.
That night, after the Ndere experience, we headed straight to the airport, reflecting on an incredible journey. Our tour guide’s knowledge and passion for Uganda enhanced every experience, from hidden gems to wildlife spotting, making this adventure truly unforgettable.
This 7-day journey through Uganda combined thrilling safaris, cultural immersion, scenic lakes, and authentic local cuisine. Every day offered adventure, tranquility, and deep insight into Uganda’s rich heritage.

We do appreciate you for trusting us with your 25th anniversary trip. We are glad to hear that all went well and look forward to planning more trips for you and your friends .
We are now back in London after an awesome 25th anniversary travel experience.
Alex-thank you so much, you made our dreams come true. It was lovely to meet you at Ndere Cultural Centre. A beautiful ending in Uganda.
Praise and Desire, you gave us a lovely welcome to your beautiful country and Kampala cuisine despite our late arrival.
Desire, we were honoured to be given insight into your outstanding hospitality, knowledge and patience as we navigated old and new sights of Uganda together. You took us out of our comfort zone at the Eco Paradise Hub on Itambira island, museums, hiking, Jinja village, drumming, dancing, with time to introduce us to a range of delicious traditional local cuisines along the Nile and enlightened us to the socio-political cultural climate. Thr only downside was arriving at Makerere University and my phone battery dying so no pics there. The rest of our trip was also amazing. The beautiful memories of my East African heritage will stay with me for a long time. We miss Uganda already and can’t wait to return!!
